Jatuporn in mass protest call to deter coup plotters

Red shirt co-leader Jatuporn Prompan has claimed there could be a coup in April making it necessary for the red shirts to renew their mass protests to pre-empt any such attempt.

Jatuporn: Looking at a pre-emptive strike

Mr Jatuporn, a list MP for the ruling Pheu Thai Party, said yesterday that members of his United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) and his associates who work with US intelligence told him there could be a coup d'etat which could bring about a change of government in April.

John - when you shout as often as Jatuporn, it's impossible to be wrong every time.
    But what's his success rate? 5%? 10%?
This latest call is more rabble rousing and negatively effects Thailand's reputation.

elvis D64 - "His fifteen minutes of fame were when he was escaping from a hotel room, dangling on a rope"
Wrong person. It was Arisman who escaped from a hotel by rope. I'm definitely no fan of Mr J, but he has been right about other things in the past, and the current situation makes the possibility of a coup credible.

Meanwhile, the PAD are publicly calling for a coup in the media, and the Dems are daily accusing PTP of trying to overthrow Him. The military is watching (helpless?) as PTP rewrites the military written constitution. Perhaps Mr J is crying wolf, or perhaps the generals won't steal from the cookie jar when everyone is looking.

Don't you just love people screaming "battle!!" and are leading from a back seat? Let others do the dirty work. Frankly, I don't believe there are many people left in this country who take this man seriously. A 'has been' if there ever was one. His fifteen minutes of fame were when he was escaping from a hotel room, dangling on a rope and wetting his pants. BP shouldn't pay any more attention to this clown...

It`s Funny How The Redshirt Sympathisers Fear A Military Coup , BUT Just Love The Idea Of A RED "Commie" Take Over , Is This NOT Just The Same As A Coup ?
This Governments Whole Agenda Is Selfserving !

Can a reporter go to Jatuporn and ask him whatever happened to the promised bi-monthly UDD gatherings in Bangkok to remind us of their dead brothers slain in battle?

  • Discussion 61 : 09/02/2012 at 07:32 PM61

Why isn't Nattawut and Jatuporn both rotting in jail for the murder they helped orchestrate in 2010? Now they are talking about "battle" and of course when they murder some more they will claim such talk was merely metaphoric. When judicial means of removing overt tyrannical criminals from positions of power are exhausted, these are the domestic enemies armies around the world are charged to protect a nation from.

UDD & PTP are armed, violent autocratic self-serving megalomaniacs serving foreign interests. The military would be guilty of extreme dereliction of duty not to remove them from power when all other options are exhausted.

This guy is suitable and will be very popular if he becomes a clown in the circus.

I hope the day will come and this man will be stricken by his own mouth!
